Hot Work

Target group

The course is aimed at electricians, tinsmiths, roofers, mechanics, metal sheet workers, and others who, in their daily work, use tools, equipment, or methods that emit heat or pose a fire risk.

Skills

The participant will be taught to:

  • Define when it is considered hot work
  • Assess the risks involved in the work
  • Take the necessary precautions before starting the work
  • Appropriately and safely set up the workspace before starting
  • Use various types of heat-emitting or producing tools and materials
  • Properly conclude hot work, minimizing the risk of fire after completion
  • Act appropriately in case of fire
  • Combat fire at an elementary level
  • Provide basic first aid in case of fire-related accidents

Form of teaching

The course is completed online, as e-learning. The course consists of teaching slides with sporadic quizzes and ends with a final test. The participant must answer at least 80% of the questions correct in order to be issued a course certificate. 

The course consists of the following lessons:

  • 1: Introduction
  • 2: Legislation
  • 3: Fire Theory
  • 4: Before the Work
  • 5: During the Work
  • 6: After the Work
  • 7: Elementary Firefighting
  • 8: Final Test

Preconditions

The course does not require any special prerequisites other than familiarity with one's own trade.

Duration

The participant is expected to use about 1,5-2 hours at the course.
